UPDATE - Corporate America

So, obviously I’m terrible at giving everyone updates right now on my job and such.. but there IS an explanation…
So, MediaNews Group has recently (as of 6-20-08) shut down the Telesales Center in Colorado Springs. I knew of this decision on Wednesday, so naturally I knew this was ‘for my ears only.’ That has been the hardest part of this job for me, to keep secrets from my co-workers. All o fyou that know me know I create strong relationships with anyone around me, so to look those people in the face and not say anything was hard. Harder even, sales reps asking about sales in the future and me saying, “Let’s just wait on this until Monday.” Ouch. I do find it easier, however, than telling my family and friends before I tell my co-workers because then it feels like I’m not keeping anything from anyone… just omitting information of my life. Sorry for the delay, I hope you all understand. None-the-less, I got through the hard part.
Now I’m working in Denver at the downtown office. 101 W. Colfax. It’s pretty cool… I’ll be riding the light rail next week, so it should save some time and cash at least. Plus not having to deal with traffic is kick ass.
I’m working for the VP of Sales and Marketing doing small projects until they find me something permanent either with the Denver Newspaper Agency or MediaNews Group. As we all know, the economy is horrid for jobs right now, so I’m happy to be employed. It’s fun working on something new too! I’m more excited to come to work now that I have been for a LONG LONG time. Probably since my 1st day to be honest.
1 of 3 of the following options could happen:
1. I find a permanent position within DNA or MNG. (my resume is out there)
2. They hire a full time Real Estate Director (which could work out for me because I continue to impress the higher-ups. i.e.- Hire me as your assistant, new guy!) :)
or
3. My 3 month ‘temporary assignment’ expires.
I’m happy with these options.
1- Cool, continue to work and change what I’m doing all the time.
2- You all know I’ll do my best to get in with whoever I can.
3- Traveling to Tampa in September!
I’m continuing to keep a positive attitude and impress as many people as I can! I know that the Lord will give me exactly what I need when I need it if I believe He will. Thanks for all the support and prayers and I’ll continue to update as I know more.
